Privacy policy
Last updated: September 2026
Thema Brain Health ("we", "us", or "our") operates this website (themabrainhealth.com), provides clinical neurology services in Boca Raton, Florida, and offers the Precision Prevention Blueprint program. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information on the marketing portion of our website and provides the disclosures required for our clinical operations under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Information created or received in the course of clinical care — including the Precision Prevention Blueprint assessment — is protected health information (PHI) and is governed by our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices.
What we collect on this website
We do not collect information that identifies you individually through the public pages of this website, unless you choose to give us your email address to join our newsletter (described below). There are no contact forms, no account signups, no advertising pixels, no session-replay tools, no heatmap trackers, and no persistent identifiers placed on your device. Specifically:
- We do not require sign-ups, accounts, or logins to read any content.
- We do not host contact forms. Visitors can request an appointment using the third-party scheduling form described below or by calling the clinic directly.
- We do not load Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, TikTok pixel, X tracking, or other advertising or social-media trackers.
Analytics
We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics service, to understand aggregate traffic on this website. Plausible does not use cookies, does not store IP addresses, and does not create persistent identifiers that follow you across sites or across days. The data Plausible collects — page paths, referrer, browser/OS, and approximate country — cannot be used to identify you individually. See Plausible's data policy for details.
The Brain Health Briefing (email newsletter)
Signing up for The Brain Health Briefing is entirely optional and opt-in. If you choose to subscribe, we collect only the email address you enter. We use it solely to send you the newsletter and related announcements from Thema, such as new issues of Neuroprevention Quarterly. We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties for their own marketing.
Subscriber email addresses are stored with Buttondown, the email service provider that sends the newsletter on our behalf. When you sign up, your IP address is also passed to Buttondown once, solely so it can screen out automated spam signups; we do not store it. Your subscription is not linked to any medical record, and subscribing does not make you a patient or create a physician-patient relationship. Please do not reply to newsletter emails with personal health information.
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email, or by contacting us using the details below. When you unsubscribe, we stop sending you the newsletter; you may also ask us to delete your email address entirely.
The Brain Health Quiz
The Brain Health Quiz is a purely client-side tool. Your answers, score, and category are calculated entirely in your browser and are never transmitted to our servers or to any third party. We do not store, log, or have access to your quiz responses.
Appointment scheduling (Phreesia)
Patients and prospective patients who use our scheduling page submit information through a HIPAA-compliant third-party form provided by Phreesia. Phreesia operates under a Business Associate Agreement with us. Submissions go directly to Phreesia and to our office; this website does not store, log, or otherwise process information you enter into the scheduling form. Information submitted through Phreesia is subject to that platform's privacy terms and, where it constitutes PHI, our Notice of Privacy Practices.
Phone and email inquiries
If you call or email us, the information you share is used solely to respond to your inquiry and to discuss our services. We retain contact and scheduling inquiries only as long as needed to respond and to meet records-retention obligations under applicable law and our Business Associate Agreements. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information for advertising purposes.
Patient information collected during care
Information collected as part of clinical care — including medical history, examination findings, test results, billing information, and insurance information — is governed by our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, available at the link below. Clinical data flows are protected by the safeguards required by HIPAA.

Children's privacy
This website is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
State privacy rights
Our privacy posture is the same for every visitor: we do not sell data that identifies you individually, and apart from the optional newsletter signup we do not collect it on this site. For residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws — including California (CCPA/CPRA), Virginia (VCDPA), Colorado (CPA), Connecticut (CTDPA), and Florida (FDBR) — we want to be explicit:
- We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- We do not process sensitive data for profiling or targeted advertising on this site.
- Apart from the email address of newsletter subscribers, we do not collect identifiers on the marketing site, so there is no other visitor data for us to retrieve or delete on request. If you have subscribed to the newsletter, or contacted us by phone, email, or through Phreesia, and want to know what we hold or have it deleted, please use the contact details below.
For PHI created during clinical care, the rights described in our Notice of Privacy Practices apply.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision. Material changes will be reflected here; continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
